Manifolds:

I've looked through the pictures, and they look to be either a very bright grey, or a darker white color in the pics that look to have everything restored to factory colors. But all the pics are from the battery side of the engine bay.

I've got the two, manifolds off to a friends shop to be blasted and powder coated. I try to stay as close to factory colors as I can with the powder coat, could anyone please let me know what the colors should be for these items?

Breath Pipe:

It's black and covered in years of crap, it's out getting an acid bath at the local engine rebuilding shop. Is this piece originally black?

In my esxperience I've always seen breather pipes in engine color.

The Oil Filler Tube is engine colored (gray in your case).
The 'Tube Assembly - Ventilator Outlet' (AKA Road Draft Tube) I think is black.
I'm not certain which one you are referring to.

I don't know about powder coating the exhaust manifold... I'm going to use Eastwood's Stainless Steel Gray Hi-Temp Coating on mine when I get to that point. I think that's what BigKev used on his. Don't know how it's holding up.

JD, I think you'll be very pleased with the results from Eastwood's stainless Hi-temp paint. After a heating cycle or two from engine operation it gives a very good approximation of the appearance of virgin cast iron. I did my exhaust manifolds on the 56 Carib more than 10 years ago and they still look quite good.

Thanks guys, I was refering to the vent pipe from the rear inspection plate down to the side of the transmision.

It will be black.

Powder Coat on the exhaust man - I'm assuming you are worries about the choke flap assembly being stuck in one position? We've got work arounds for that... So the intake and exhaust mans should be a cast color? I've got just the thing, will take pics when it's all done and post for you all.

Engine isn't gettin done at this point as I don't have to pull it. (original problem was no pressure in half the cylinders. t'was stuck valves)There's no leaks from it as of right now, so I'm going to leave it at that.

The hope is to have it moving on it's own power so I can move it in and out of the garage as small jobs come in that will be paying cash so I can put the money towards the project.

CORRECTION

Was going from memory, just got to work and looked in our stock of road breather pipes. 288/327 style pipes are black while 37-47 Six and 35-47 "120" small 8's are green.
Always something new to learn or relearn

The oil fill tube on my Series 23 was black and the spare engine I took from an identical car was also black. The black paint seemed original on both. I have also seen grey ones on restored cars, so maybe Packard did both colors depending on when the car was built. There was a prior posting on this subject within the last year or so.

This appears to be a defining photograph for the oil filler tube on the 22nd series cars. Didn't we just go thru this question a few weeks ago?
