Sorry about the GIT versus GTI. I guess I drove my VW GTI too long.....

I found that the Duplicolor gloss clear coat works quite well. It does work much better when the clear coat is warm (not a problem this time of year) but you do need to shake it for at least one minute. Otherwise it can get splotchy. This is a critical step. After it dries for a day or so, polish it with a clear coat polishing compound; just do it by hand - no power buffers!

The base-coat should not be transparent. You should call for a replacement. I have been using Spraymax Clear with the adjustable cap this year and it works great
