I have seen third-party conversions too that do not require any transmission modifications as it has linkages that connect to the existing arms. Here is one that I sold years ago and granted it was for a V8 Packard with a different type of transmission, it's the same idea.

I am curious if a modern or even a 50s version floor shift add on like the one Don shows would work with the old transmissions because of the long side levers. 55-6 levers and I suspect most all modern car levers are fairly short in comparison so not much motion is needed. The 6" or longer levers on transmissions thru 50 might have too much throw for an accessory shifter to fully engage and might need replacing. 51-4 levers are shorter by about half but still might be a tad too long.

Howard has a good point although it's probably easier to shorten the levers than it is to modify the forks!

If you are referring to the article mentioned in the second post it appears to have been another file that was corrupted or link broken when the migration to the new server was made last year.

Here it is again.

This file shows the Part A, is there other files that show part B and part C?
Thank you

If you go the Toet route, I can provide a 35-37 floor shift trans top for $75 plus shipping.

Do you happen to still have the 35-37 floor shifter you mentioned here? Thank you.

I am under the impression the aftermarket floor shift conversion kits will not work on the 1940 and later Packard-built transmissions. Has anyone actually used one of these aftermarket kits?
