FYI: don't sand blast the carb!
Another guy on another site was complaining when his rebuild 4 bbl didn't work so good after he sand blasted it first and rebuilt. Use the soaking type carb cleaner. If any part needs de-scaled later, then carefully bead the part, not the body. Too many orifices to clog. Poke out the any holes with a fine wire.

The carb is mostly apart. The screws that hold on the butterflies are braded on the end. To take them off will I need to grind the ends off? Also I tried to unscrew one before realizing it was braded and I sheared the head off any suggestion of how to get the screw out?

The secondary butterfly shaft is basically stuck in the bore wont turn. It needs to come out doesn't it?

Typically if you soak it in carburetor cleaner it will free up. Unless physically broken or bent, there is never a reason to remove them.
