Good job. The only think I would suggest is that the metal be covered with water resistant plastic/paper etc. to avoid transferring rust to the wood. I would also place a sheet of metal on the outside of the stack of wood stack to more evenly spread the clamping force.
But, from the looks of what you did these suggestions would just be overkill. Great job.
