In the past I had a number of prewar, 1939, 1940 and 1941 but now I have 1951-1956. I was up to 22 cars for many years but have only 7 now, four of which are Packards. I actually don't live here but family does and this is where my shop is located. I come up every couple months for two or three weeks and this time I'm leaving in two days.

Big John: I looked and found a left, which works for the passenger, but not the driver. Also found the moulds, don't know if the gentleman is still in business. take a look at the pictures and let me know if you would like me to spend more time investigating.

Thanks to all who responded.
Yesterday, I had success in tightening the sidemount mirrors on my 1941 Packard 180 Touring Sedan. After studying the situation carefully, I found that the brass ball on the top of each sidemount post actually screws onto the post .. and that the brass balls were not tight. Consequently, I proceeded to tighten each mirror snugly (not firm) and then turned the whole mirror assembly in a clockwise manner until they were tight on the ball and would turn no more. Then I loosened the mirrors a tad and moved the mirror into final position, and then firmly tightened the mirrors against the ball. Yay! Done. If anyone has questions, please let me know. Yesterday, I was finally able to tighten my two sidemount mirrors (see separate post). While I think the mirrors that you have are MUCH better, I am happy now with mine. Consequently, I don't need you to continue with any further research. Truly appreciate your help with this matter. If anything changes, I will let you know.
