We offer a rebuilding service on BTV and in some cases we have rebuilt ones in stock on an exchange basis. Please reach out to Charod in our Packard Dept.

Thanks

I did call Kanter and talked with one of their Packard reps. He talked with their rebuilder and the rebuilder said they used to recommend silicon fluid but now they do not indicating it swells the seals.

Mine had silicone in it. Sat for 20 years

Ross
Took it apart .. Nothing wrong. Cleanest TV. He had ever worked on.

And his rebuild is still going. And i use silicone.

What I've read that its hard on copper.

Why brake switches don't last with it.

That's been my oy issue.

But that is solved with a Harley Davidson switch.

I did send the TV to a rebuilder. He heard my past history with silicon and said there would be no issues with using silicon after the rebuild. He sated that he recommends silicon fluid. I did replace the brake switch over 25 years ago as the silicon fluid was messing up the switch and I got tired of replacing it. For the last 25 years I have had a micro switch mounted on the brake pedal. Since it has never given a problem I actually forgot about it. I believe i put it on the car before suppliers were making "kits" to do the same.
