very nice collection! did these originally come with a windshield?

Yes, they had windshields when new. Unfortunately, they were not as tough as the car bodies. Most of these were played with by little kids, and it's very rare to find one with a windshield today. One of mine,the green one, has a windshield, but it's not original to the car. It was fabbed by the previous owner.
