also your outer shaft does not appear to have had the 6x 1/8th inch holes drilled to accept the 40 tooth pump rotor. i wonder if you have the 20 tooth

and if you have a 40 tooth...you need to drill those holes. again see my blog.

mine is a 55 and the picture of the 55 shaft concurs with HH56

I had the Chrysler 727 installed in my 55 Clipper. I enjoy it now, but it was expensive. The shop that installed it learned how to do it on my money. I could have sent the car to the east coast or west coast to get the ultramatic rebuilt cheaper than the swap cost. If you did the swap the transmission yourself, it would be cheaper.
There is a guy in Phoenix who is working on installing a 700R4 so he'll have overdrive. I'll be watching that conversion.
