Ross: Thanks! Puzzle solved and the part is not needed... so the license plate holder I got was out of a '55 and the plate is not needed on e '56.

HH: I will look for the holes, but in any case, since I will not be adding a trailer hitch, I will eventually have the holes covered and the bumper chromed.
