Some minor work this evening on the Clipper.

First I stripped the top side of the rear bumper filter panels. I would have also done the bottom side, but I need to pick up a couple more stripping discs.

Then I repaired the numerous dents and dings. When the car was rear ended at some point the bumper was pushed into this panel. The bumper and brackets were replaced at some point, but the filler panels were not.

So I had to fix all the bent over edging, and hammer down all the ridges that were formed in the panel from the impact. So a lot of work with a hammer and various dollies and I was able to get both panels straightened out.

Also I started to media blast the bumper brackets so I can get them painted, and get the bumper assemble all put back together.

The filler panels were stripped with a stripping disc on a 4 1/2" grinder as they are to large for my small blast cabinet.

The bumper brackets were media blasted with 80 grit glass bead.

Rear bumper reassembled. I replaced both of the bumperettes as the ones the car came with were crushed.

One of the new ones was missing the bottom pressed in bolt. So I had to press out one of the bolts from the crushed one, and press it into the one that was missing.

Next I need to rewire the license plate lights and reinstall the filler panel, and bumper back on the car.

That's a keeper shot all right. Really shows how massive and sculpted the rear of each fender is, and adaptable to the taillight configurations that followed.
