Looks like what's left of a '40 120 Conv Sedan. Are you saying, West, it's a scam because the price seems low?

No. A friend called on it, and the car apparently is now in "California", and the seller wanted money wired. Friend said he'd pay for it in cash when he got there. Seller said it might be sold by that time. Friend said he'd take the risk. Seller hung up on him, then called back and said it was sold.

I called on that Patrician in Delaware and from the engine number the seller gave me it appears to have a 320 instead of a 352. A real bummer IMO.

If the Delaware Patrician has as good a body, interior and mechanicals as the photos would leave you to believe, then the asking price is not too far out of line. You can do a 352 conversion for a whole lot less than doing body and interior work. With the correct and good running engine a price of somewhere around $10K would not be out of line. I think you would still be above water after an engine replacement. In the mean time you could drive and enjoy it while sourcing and preparing a new engine. Just something to think about.

Hi Packard0

JW is right, if all other aspects check out as good and correct, replacing the 320 with a 352 would be a very cost-affective way to a great Patrician for less than current market prices. Sale of the 320 would offset some of the cost of the 352 as well.

Steve

Might as well throw in a couple Clippers:

A '54 Clipper Deluxe, driver condition:

A '57 Clipper Town Sedan, 39K miles, looks great except for bumper chrome:
