Stand DIRECTLY FACING the front of the fan. There is a wide cresent shaped slot directly above the Westing name plate. Drop fan blade so that 1 or 2 of the blade(s) drop trhu a bottom slot(s). Angle top of the fan balde assembly toward the front of the cage. Bring one blade out thru the cresent shaped slot. Move fan blade assembly all the way to one side until it stops and then bring second blade out thru crecent shaped slot. Repeat process for bottom two blades.
Edit: Note that it mite be necessary to turn the fan blade as it is passed thru the slot and as it is moved to one side against the nearest cage wire.

Keith, sounds good in theory, but it doesn't work. Trust me, I spend some time to see if I could get the blade out. The cage was build as a single unit over the blade.

Finally back into the garage. First it started with a cleanup session so I could find my work bench. Then stripped out all of the dash pieces so I could pull the dash.
All the knobs and switches were removed. The cluster was removes and wires tagged. Finally the entire dash was removed through the passenger door. Wires and vent levers were all bagged to protect from overspray. Since I have had the dash out before, this went pretty quickly. Also all the wiring is new and flexible. That really helped compared to the petrified wiring I had before. With the dash out of the way, next the wiper mechs were pulled. Will all that out of the way, I could finally start cleanup up the window channels and cowl. Indeed! Well until about 2:30pm when the heat in the garage was too much for me.
Also before I pulled the dash out, I let the car run for about 20 mins as I figured this was going to be one of the last times it would be running before it went to paint.

Some more work in the garage this evening after dinner. Did some more stripping on the rear window channel. Here is also a picture of a very old rust repair that was done at some point. It needs to be ground down properly, this was not seen before as the stainless trim covered it.
Since I had the stripping disc out, I decided to strip the external sun visor. They were rusty on top, and even rustier on the bottom. The top cleaned pretty easily with the stripping disc. The bottom was much rougher, and pitted, also the leading edge under the chrome trim was also painted. But it cleaned up pretty well. Also gave it a heavy coat of metal prep to kill the rust in the pits. Still need to do some metal work on it, as sides are a little twisted and there are a couple of dings. Then I will go over it with the DA, and skim coat it with some light weight filler to level the pits on the bottom. Then into primer it will go.

Some work tonight in the garage after it cooled down out there. I DA the visor panels to level the sanding marks from the stripping wheel. Then I went over the panels and started to remove the bends and dings.
Alot of time was spent removing the small dings from the stainless leading edge trim.
