Riki,
Do you happen to know what size and type the large thread is used on the BTV filler cap. The replacement you have made looks great however it's a little impractical to send brass bar to the US from overseas so I was going to try and get one made at my work. I'm guessing it's probably UNF of some size...? Cheers, Dave.

Why use brass. Use aluminum. Brass can be difficult to drill and tap. Requires a different drill angle. Brass is common to hang up drill bits.

And then find some way to plug the vent hole in the OEM CAP.

There is a gentleman (Windel?) that is always at the Salado TX meet, that makes a remote filler setup for the Packard MCs. Based on your MC, it comes with a new cap, tubing, and a cast aluminum reservoir that is mounted on the firewall.
I have one of these setups, but just have not got around to installing it yet. But I can take pictures of the parts if anyone is interested. Basically the cap is threaded on the top to take a tubing fitting, and there is no vent hole on the MC cap, as the vent hole is relocated to the cap on the remote reservoir.
