Thanks for the pictures. The Rollston 443 is now in the Marano collection, it's ex-Tom Kerr.

I was there Thursday through the Awards dinner Saturday night.

I was hoping to get to meet up with some of the folks on here who have helped me out, but traveling with a group of 8 kept me away from the Packard tent.

So far I've only processed, and sorted, pictures from Thursday. Hershey Day 1; plenty of interesting things to see.

I'll post more links to Friday and Saturday as I get them posted.

Chad

Here are Friday and Saturday...

Friday - Swap meet Day 2

Saturday - Show

Nice photo coverage, thanks for posting. Do you remember any details about the Isotta Fraschini in/near the Dragone tent?

OD,

The Isotta Fraschini was a site to behold. Unfortunately, I can't recall the details (Walking the meet with a group of 8 makes for a tough pace). I'll try later to tease more detail out of the window sheet, to make it readable.

Another standout was the green Packard in the car corral. Not sure what model it is, but there is a low 3/4 view picture in album I linked to.

I guess you mean the 34 convertible coupe? Curious car, has the radiator/shutter treatment of a Twelve (which was an option on all models) and a Twelve front bumper but from the wheel type (fixed spokes and lack of a rolled rim) and hub cap could be an Eight or a Super Eight, and it has Super Eight headlight & parking light lenses. Looks just lovely and I like the color but despite that I sure wish when folks spend that type of money on a restoration that they'd get the pinstripe details correct.

Another of your pictures shows a green/green & black club sedan, a 633 I believe, and again an attractive Packard but with with an interesting treatment - the radiator shell painted black rather than chromium plates and I don't believe this is authentic. Perhaps the owner's preference though what is often suggested in whispered tones is that the shell was in too poor a condition to be plated so it was worked with body filler and painted.

Being new to Packards I do appreciate your trained eye for the details.

The seller indicated that he had a buyer interested at $265,000.00; we spent about 15 minutes looking at it.

Hi

The Isotta-Fraschini in the Dragone tent was a Tipo 8A torpedo convertible sedan by Castagna. The design was by Hibbard & Darrin, built under license by a number of custom coachbuilders including Gill, D'Iteren and Derham. And it was STUNNING!!!!!

Hi

Sorting my Hershey photos, I missed this one of a '56 Caribbean hardtop and a Continental Mark II. Although the angle emphasizes the difference, the Mark II at 56.0" looks extremely low compared to the Caribbean at 62.3".

LOVE the comparison between the Connie and the Carib. Thinking back to what it must have been like in 1956: If you were the owner of a brand new regal Packard Caribbean and pulled up to a stop light (or country club) where a Continental was sitting, would the wind in your sails been deflated slightly???

I think I would have been in awe of the Connie, just as I am today. Not that I'm not enthralled with the 1956 Caribbean, I am (especially the hardtop), it's just that I've never seen this comparison before.

I missed Saturday show day at Hershey due to a family emergency. My 1940 Packard 180 was on the show field, though, thanks to some good friends.
