Hi BDC
Yes indeed, the same futuristic shapes as the Silver Arrow as well. Encountering any of the three was a revelation for the public in progressive car design. But, before streamlining displaced the Classic, its been written that Ray Dietrich didn't do too much to make a car special, just the right things and just enough. Proof this was entirely true: 1932 Twin Six 906 Individual Custom convertible sedan by Dietrich. Steve Added 10-24-2019 This '34 Twelve 1107 five passenger coupe with artillery wheels was in the car corral for sale along with the '39 Twelve 2/4 passenger coupe. Dave is right, artillery wheels look better painted with pinstripes. No one back then wanted to annually varnish natural-finish wood wheels. Sorry I couldn't get rear three-quarters views of each due to the way cars were parked on either side. Added 10-26-2019 The Marano Collection brought their '38 Super Eight touring coupe by Mayfair. It's quite a striking design in the idiom very popular with English coachbuilders in those immediate pre-war years. The chrome radiator shell is a bit much but no doubt correct. Almost last but not least, a '40 Custom Super 180 Darrin convertible Victoria in Sea Cloud Gray. There isn't a bad angle to view a Darrin, is there? Got lucky, the crowd was elsewhere when I happened along to take these.
Added 11-2-2019 Finally, a solid black '53 Mayfair looking very regal. That concludes my Hershey 2019 Packards photos. It's by no means comprehensive, there were others that I missed or bypassed as I've photographed them in prior years. But, we're always delight when the owners bring them for us to see and enjoy. Thanks. Steve
