thanks for taking the time to explain things, the heads have never been surfaced. i have aluminum and cast iron heads. my dad was using cast iron heads.

charles last welded rods for chrysler inserts., i am going to take a rod to the machine shop, and remove babbit and see how bad rod is,

then go from there, see what dale wants for new insertd,,steel or aluminum bronze. Aluminum bronze shells could be for the low income guys..
