"During our recent visit, solely elevated at the entrance was the 1924 Packard Single-6 Touring of Emilio Aguinaldo (1869-1964), to commemorate the General’s 150th birth anniversary. Though horse drawn carriages were the norm during the time of the Revolutionary Government, Aguinaldo obtained the Packard at a later date. This particular model was the favorite of the Russian czar and his family."
Well, at least the Packard Single Six Touring is true. Acc. to this source it is a model 233, owned by the above mentioned Filipino president as a private citizen. But favorite of the Russian czar and his family? I don't think so. The last Emperor of Russia was executed in 1918 by Bolsheviks. sources text - philstar.com images - Twitter Attach file: 1924 Packard Single Six Touring Model 233.jpg (222.86 KB) interesting tire tread.jpg (246.65 KB) badge on blue ground.jpg (177.37 KB)

Gerd,
I've been reading a lot of crime novels lately, it's what I've been doing under lockdown restrictions with COVID, your detective/investigative work is admirable and could easily grace the pages of those publications! Or a very good memory or filing system?

What did you say, Mal? Crime, detectives, investigation ... just wait, you're going to get into trouble with the Moscow police soon.

Two Philippine presidents - one Packard
"The Japanese government during its occupation gifted the 1942 Packard Custom Super Eight One-Eighty Limousine to Jose Laurel (1891-1959). This luxury car was lined with the best fabric, leather and wool – a first.. It was hard times when Sergio Osmeña (1878-1961) assumed the post immediately after the devastation brought by World War II, which led him to utilize the previous president’s car, which was discovered undamaged within the Malacañan complex." sources text & image 1 - philstar.com image 2 - thevisualtraveler.net

Mal, thanks for the link, good images, even in color.
The next chapter brings to mind a question, open for 8 years. To identify the passenger in the backseat of the below shown 1934 Packard touring car let's listen to Wikipedia: "Yasuhito, Prince Chichibu (秩父宮雍仁親王, Chichibu-no-miya Yasuhito Shinnō, 25 June 1902 – 4 January 1953), was the second son of Emperor Taishō (Yoshihito) and Empress Teimei (Sadako), a younger brother of Emperor Shōwa (Hirohito) and a general in the Imperial Japanese Army." Prince Chichibu brother of the Emperor of Japan seated in rear. Inscribed on photo back; Packard 1101 eight, eleventh series, 8-cylinder, 120-horsepower, 136-inch wheelbase, 7-person touring car (body type #710), Prince Chichibu, brother of Emperor of Japan, imperial crimson car owned by Emperor Kang Teh of Manchuko, emperor's crests on tonneau door & radiator cap, note plank road.
