After much thought.
I believe Steve Williams comment about needle bearings...had to do with inside the 56 converter. The driven hub. Is the only thing in that transmission that is Rockwell hard.. And a caged needle bearing. Used like I did. The bell housing / converter shaft needle bearing. I do think the trans is more responsive. And..the leak can be solved. But ..unless a dyno was available.. To test..taking that trans out gets old. In the coming weeks going to replace the needle bearing with the bushing I made.. The leak is a pain..but not as much as waiting for oil to get to converter. And go into gear.. High idle few minutes. Needs a needle bearing with 4. quarter inch holes..1. 1/8 inch hole does not cut it.

This grease should be good..for tl. And suspension.
I would think either one.. The red one is not white grease..they make. Another for that.. The picture showing white grease is the red tube..

Pack 12. Valve guide tool. Finished sizing cam bearings ..
Next get cam polished. End plug removed for cleaning out 1936.1982 gunk. Made brass drift to put guides back down..but might use guide remover. Had to buy B7 grade of threaded rod. Some if those guides were in there. The shop that did the valves said couple went in tight.. Moved guides out to put clusters in ..the cages..picture of them later. My dads engine stand is genius...works beautiful And has bolt to use brakes to lock drum. 55 brake drum
