Has it been mentioned the Netflix movie "Carol " has many 40's and '50's Packards? The star of the show is a beautiful 1950 Custom or possibly a Super Deluxe with Ultramatic transmission, also several 47 Clippers and Super or Custom Clippers, several 48-50's and other later 1950's. Probably far more Packards than would have been seen at anyone time in comparison to other makes in that era. A slow paced movie but well acted and worth watching just to see the Packards.

The house with a clock in its walls,

Henry,

It looks like a 41 or 42 yellow Clipper

It is a green 1954 Clipper 4 door like big Kev.

Don't know if the 1955 British film Ladykillers was mention as in it was featured a 1938 Super Eight Limousine. Few of the trailers show it well but here are a couple shots including the inside with the partition clearly visible and, of course, right hand drive.

The actors, left to right, are Danny Green, Herbert Lom, Cecil Parker and Alec Guiness. Also in it but not shown was a very young Peter Sellers who, with Herbert Lom, were the stars of the Pink Panther films.

I thought I posted this before but I guess not. Anyway, two more Packard appearances:

1.) TV series, "McCloud"... Dennis Weaver's cowboy-in-New York City detective series featured a black 1956 Patrician (with factory air) pretending to be a Russian ZIL-111.

2.) The HBO movie, "Sugartime" about the romance of mobster Sam Giancana and famous singer, Phyllis McGuire of the McGuire Sisters group. Several scenes wherein the bad guys drive around in a 1955 Clipper sedan.

My buddy Rick Tice had posted a few years ago that he drove his '37 Super 8 Business Limo in the movie "The Natural" that was filmed in Buffalo, NY about 1983. Just wanted to resubmit that info and a few photos of those scenes. His car was in a few shots but the best was when he was parked awaiting the two stars to get in and drive off from the hotel they were staying at. That's Rick driving!
I too auditioned for the movie with my '38 Eight. Made the first cut but was never called to the shoot.

Sorry to add to this story but Rick passed away a few years ago. His medical issues finally took over and his prized car was sold to a new owner who is resto-rodding or full hot rodding it. A shame as it was a fairly rare model, the business limo. His wife offered it to me to buy but my stable is full.
