The Ford GT has nothing on a Ferrari. I've seen one up close and personal in the Ford dealership I used to work at and the fit and finish was 2nd class for a car that costs over $180,000. You'll never see that with a Ferrari.

Ferrari's are beautiful cars but I vaguely remember one a former boss had (from the late 60's or early 70's) that had a tendency to throw fan belts. All I remember about the car other than it was quite the thrill to ride in was a component (maybe generator or alternator) mounted pointing backward compared to other cars, there was almost no room to get to it. Apparently it had a tendency to throw belts off at higher revs. More than once he came in late and dirty & said he had to replace the belt on the side of the road.

Eric: I maybe wrong but when the Ford Gt was being produced average retail price was a little over $ 140,000.

I have worked on my buddies 1973 Ferrari 246 Dino it is divine misery to get at almost anything in the engine compartment but still when I listen to that little 4 cammer at 7000rpm as it negotiates a twisty road it is heavenly. This car has soul. On youtube type in Rendevous or go here
ca.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9LqJtDP6ic and you will find an old movie of some idiot (but one hell of a driver!) who took a Ferrari (probably a 275 but definitely a V-12) through the streets of Paris early one morning at full speed back in the late 60's. Doing 140mph on the Champs Elysees it is quite a ride but oh the sweet sound of that engine!

John, the MSRP was $140,000, but you're not taking into account the dealer markup that happens with all high end cars. The dealership paid $180,000 for this car, which they kept for their own personal use, it was not for sale. IF they would have sold it, it would have commanded a price of over $200,000.

Eric: I already know that when it comes to super cars of this area that msrp means nothing, the demand of the market sets the price. One thing that seems to be overlooked in this whole thing is my original statement, which I will state again.
The American's cans build automobiles that will match the PERFORMANCE of anything that the Italians build. Personally when it comes to Italian super cars I have always liked what Lamborghini has produced. The one of which I consider to be the best is the Countach LP 5000S and 5000 QV. John F. Shireman

John, I know what you're saying, but to me the whole point of an Italian car is more than the engine and performance, it's the feel of the car inside and out. To me, cars are like women. Would you rather have one that can cook and is great in bed and looks like a model, or one that does all that but looks like a troll?
Now, don't even TRY to quote Jimmy Soul on this one!! "If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life Never make a pretty woman your wife So from my personal point of view Get an ugly girl to marry you A pretty woman makes her husband look small And very often causes his downfall As soon as he marries her, then she starts Doin' the things that will break his heart But if you make an ugly woman your wife You'll be happy for the rest of your life An ugly woman cooks your meals on time An she'll always give you peace of mind Don't let your friends say you have no taste Go ahead and marry anyway Though her face is ugly and her eyes don't match Take it from me, she's a better catch" LOL!
