Finally finished with the gear selector with the necessary part supplied by Green Dragon. (Thanks) When I opened the box it was not what I expected, everyone's recollections were different as no spec drawings were found. What the hell so I put the part on and discovered that it has that weird wire angle was for a reason as it wraps around the outside of the column into the gear selector window. Thought those who have followed this opera would like to see the pictures of how it fits.

Morgan, glad your car is now able to tell you what gear it's in. Did you get your transmission problems sorted out?

First off, I am sorry to resurrect a 12 year old thread, but it had all the relevant info in it already so I thought that would make this easier.
In short, the base of the main 'tab' piece that fits into the steering column slot is broken so the pointer wont stay in one spot. It is part 3.308896 shown in post #23. You can see how that is fractured in this picture and that I have the 'old style' pointer clamp replaced by a new part # listed in post #8. So my question: does anyone have the main tab piece or ideally an assembly with the updated clamp the would be willing to part with? thx Bob

If no one on the forum can help you might give Mike Dulinksi a call.. He deals in used 55-6 parts and out of his many parts cars could possibly come up with something.
