How about some close up photos of the multi carb setup? I'd like to see the manifold and carbs. Nice work on the car.

Thank you everyone! The Packard is coming along good and getting a lot of attention, but still have more to go. I need to redo the windshield (cracked it when it was getting cut to fit the chop)I found a place that sells brand new windshields so I'm going to pick one up when I can. I also need to do the interior, it's pretty bare boned right now and I'd like to make the suspension and brakes a little better. As for the white wall tires those are regular radials with white paint, it goes on bright white but after a few days they fade to antique white. Some day I'll get some real white walls. She still has a single carb, the scoops on the hood were intended for venting heat and looking cool doing it. I was going to louver the hood but the nearest shop with a punch was over 100 miles away and my dad was getting rid of his old Chris Craft boat so I snagged the vents off of it and integrated them into the hood. I do have a 4 barrel intake I was thinking of switching over to that and pick up a multi deuce adapter to put on top.

Neat looking setup. Any idea as to the CFM on the multiple carb setup and how it compares to a 4 barrel?

The carbs are around 200cfm each, so 200cfm for normal driving and 600cfm when you kick her in the guts. I think factory 4 barrels are around 375cfm, I know V8s around that cubic inch do good with 600cfm but I'm not sure how the straight 8 will react. They also make a 2 carb set up.

Another thing to mention last year this book "Rat Rods" went on sale and has a couple pages on my Packard. It's available on Barnes & Nobles website and Amazon.com
