Howard, we were joking as it looks like shields being set up now in places.

I realize that but have been curious about the reason for an enclosure around the driver since seeing a photo in a brochure years ago. There was no detail given in the writeup and the cab was just described as a New York cab. In the specs the statement that it "came factory equipped with the required partition" being the only mention of what appears to be a cramped and claustrophobic enclosure.

So those those shields were used?

Where was the meter?
That would make it more cozy.

I can't tell, but the back window does not look like the taxi version.

Here is a partition from a 47 sales brochure that is on this site. Still curious as to what or who was being protected since this brochure also has no info on why they were used other than "ordinances". At least this enclosure looks a bit less confined than the one in the other photo.

I guess they were ahead of their time on virus protection...

Well it's been a while since last post. Sorry about that. About all that has been accomplished is all front sheet metal has been sorted and wheels painted with matching tires mounted and they all hold air. The long delay is the result of a shoulder injury that will be operated on next week. The surgeon told me he can repair the damage to the socket and tear of the rotator cup, but will require a long recovery. I'll keep you posted from time to time.

Thanks for the support. I'll say that I am nervous, but The Energizer Bunny better look out because I just might be able to run him down after recovery. lol

Just a update on the NY taxi. All has been put on hold for the next 3 to 4 months. My surgeon said that the damage to my shoulder was much worse than he diagnosed. I had detached ligaments and tendons plus bone damage that was repaired. He said it will take several more months to heal. The project has been loaded in our trailer and put in cold storage. Talk to you in the spring. Stay safe and be well,
