And at the opposite end of the spectrum here is Howard Schaevitz' 1902 Model F, one of about 8 or so Packards at Warren which were built in Warren. Photos by John Harley.

Paul's car is NOT a "street rod", it's more of a "what if" concept of what Packard could have done if they had the time and resources to do so. Everything he did was in the spirit of Packard, much the same as what I do to my cars is the "spirit of Packard".
And besides, to be qualified as a street rod, it has to be 1948 and before, 1949 and later is what is referred to as a "custom rod".

Here's a few more photos from Warren, one set at Gene Taraschawty's, one set at Don Hanlon's collection, and some photos of show field cars. The 41 limo was Mrs. Packard's limo and has lived virtually it's entire life in Warren. The first series 8 with rear-mounted spare was quite a hit, driven from WVA and on all the tours. Also a Henney junior, a 39 Twelve with optional column gearshift, a 733 roadster, and a 37 Six coupe, cheapest Packard ever at $795.

Thanks for sharing. These pix give those who could not attend a glimpse of what they missed. Looks like Tareshawty has even more "set dressing" than when I first saw his collection there nearly 15 years ago. Although PMCC moved its operations to Detroit in 1903, it seems as if the meet in Warren is becoming something of an annual homecoming. I don't expect it to be a week-long event every time, but I'm hoping the museum can keep coming up with a compelling draw each year.

Brian, glad you enjoyed the pictures & hope others do as well; I'll have a few more when I finish the current roll of film. As to Taraschwaty's "set dressing" (great use of words), I didn't capture even 1% of, covers nearly every square foot of wall, plus display cabinets with hundreds (thousands?) of NOS parts, accessories, etc., many over the several years of the Darrin showing the differences between years.
This was my first return to Warren since the Centennial, I'd like to make it a regular event as long as Randy provides chairs and cashews.

Dave, if you show up every year, I will guarantee refreshment, chairs and cashews (providing Brian's Dad doesn't consume them all). I felt that since I invited folks to stop by, it was only natural that they should expect some refreshment and snacks. I couldn't afford foie de gras, but I do like cashews and Coke.
And thank you very much for the pictures at Tareshawty's.

Sounds like I missed quite the shin-dig this year. I was hoping to make it out this year, but family vacation, work commitments and being down with Pneumonia really derailed those plans.
But at least I hope to make up a portion of what I missed by meeting Dave (Owen) in person tomorrow since I am in northern New Jersey for a couple of days on business.

I think my dad inhaled a couple just trying to keep up with him! I never knew you could buy Planter's cashews by the drum - good thing Randy drives a Packard with Torsion-Level.
