Duraspark was beyond lousy. I had several people tell me that when their car/truck died on the side of the road, they'd get out and dump some coke/pepsi/water/etc on it and they'd be on their way.

I hadn't heard about the TFI problem, those were pretty reliable. I say that because in over 60,000 miles in my T-Bird, that already had 50,000 miles on it never needed one, and never let me down. It WAS mounted on it's own heat sink by the radiator, so that may be why. I wouldn't take any chances and use a heat sink mounted in good airflow. Also, make sure you use some dielectric grease on the bottom of the module, as that helps with heat transfer greatly.

BTW, your answer is incorrect, keep trying!

One slight correction- Use heat sink compound (available at Radio Shack) not dielectric grease, they are two different animals.

My answer is correct, it just isn't the one you were looking for LOL.

To vent moisture that can cause misfiring?

Phil's correct, that's what I was thinking of, the white goo, not the transparent goo.

Rusty, no it's not. There's a real reason why they vent the cap on HEI distributors, for the reason we were discussing on the previous page.

Still wrong, sort of. It's not moisture.
