Yes Howard, exactly as you questioned. I acquired Packard parts and repaired the rear u-joint as normal. Front joint is GM style as also noted given the 4L60E transmission conversion.

For the past few days I've been driving my 38 back and forth from central RI to Cape Cod MA for some scenes in a Disney movie they're shooting (The Finest hours). So far 3 round trips and about 3 more to come. It's about 160 miles round trip. So far the car is running great (55 to 60 MPH). Very glad that I add overdrive to my car. Although I did find out that my defrosters aren't what you would call stellar. Don't know if I'll show up in any of the shots - the camera guy thinks white or yellow cars are too bright( movie takes place at night), guess I'll have to wait until April 2016 to see if they use any of my scenes but at least they pay me anyway.

Participated in the Dual in the Desert II in Tucson and my darling presented herself very well. My bride and I had a good time as well 'stay-vacationing' at the hotel.
I also met Jim from Manitoba Canada and we had some good conversation about Packards. Jim hangs out here on packardinfo web page and he is privileged to own and drive a '53 Mayfair. Take a look in the owner's directory. A fine looking original for sure. So, guys and gals.............life is short........get out there and drive your PACKARDS!

Alas - some of us have to wait until the snow has melted, before driving their Packards.
