-> A couple of years ago I was on business in a god-forsaken country. After bumpy landing the taxi drivers came running and outdid each other to carry my trunk. But after telling them my destination one after another left me with a shrug. The absent of frost made the way almost impassable and the road was ankle-deep in mud.
Embracing the possibility of a total flop I rented a Mercedes M-Class, which brough me through save and sound. Today, four years later, the time had come to buy a new car. The M-Class was always in my mind but isn't available anymore. That is why I bought its successor, the so-called -> GLE, which is just a facelift. I hope it will be a faithful companion for the years and roads to come.

For roads that resemble the picture above i would have searched for a VW Beetle or a Cadillac or a 28 - 37 Ford. As for " Today, four years later, the time has come..." 4 years is no test for ANY car. But the VW's (Beetle) , Cadillacs and 28 - 37 Fords have stood the test of time and miles and service.

Keith (PackardV8), SIXT doesn't offer a 1928 Ford any longer (or does the talk revolves around 2028?) but my heart provides enough space for both, old and new cars. Duane (duane.g), reading your story brought me joy. I payed the car wash to bring back the former gloss of your cars.

After seven years of happiness with my Mercedes GLE, two months ago I bought another vehicle that was made in the USA. It's a Mercedes GLS. With its 700 Newton meters, I could probably pull several tree trunks behind the car. I sit in all its splendor and struggle to understand the developments. My first car was a little smaller and a little simpler (comparison image see below).

I had a 1952 Cadillac convertible.... wish I had it back. Those were very good cars, and they would stand more abuse than most.
