Hi Wes, My apologies for not responding to your 2-22-17 Automotive Industries article/image from 11-15-39. I have concentrated on formatting the 1940 Packard AC chapter and have not opened packardinfo.com in a while. Thanks again, Allen Archiveman2977

Hi Allen, I don't know if you are still looking for information on Packard A/C system, but I found this as I try to catch up on my magazine reading.
In Classic Car April 2017 magazine, it looks like a reprint story about Gen. MacArthur's 1942 Packard and it came with A/C. It looks like around 1968 a Don MacLellan of Dallas bought it. Hope this is helps, if not it is interesting. Wes

Hi Wes, Yes, I take Classic Car mag and saw it there. Even better yet, I was able to order the Cormorant edition, Spring 1975, from the club with it as the cover story. Before then, I have the SIA, Special Interest Auto's, copy of the article, 5-76. Thanks for the heads-up. I appreciate it. See ya, archiveman2977 Allen

The MacArthur car is identical to the 1942 Clipper with a/c that was just recently bought out of Ohio, and mentioned on this forum recently (the one that we used to own). With the exception, of course, the olive drab paint and the other military features.

I don't know if your still looking, (Since this is an old post.) but I found this in Popular Mechanics Nov. 1940. This is the first time I had ever noticed that special insulation had been added.

Earle C Anthony was notorious for coming up with aftermarket changes and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this divice was something that he had commissioned for 1941. Perhaps no literature for 1940 since it may not have been offered then. Just some thoughts but, as a Packard A/C is something that fascinates me, I am awaiting any more concrete evidence.
