Could use some help w/ Seal #'s, did lots of searching & the cross ref section here is kinda speculative.
I need "for sure' numbers for the inner & outer rear axle. I have Nat# 6840 for the front & will try them in tomorrow.
A fer sure Wheel Cylinder ref for front & rear would be great too.
Summer, happy...

Can't help with any proven numbers but one thing I found with the aftermarket "replacement" front seals on the 47 is the same thing DeluxCanuck found on his rear seals. ID and OD was perfect but the shell was much too deep. I didn't go the route of shortening the shell as he did since I had to get other items and just ordered proper seals. For anyone needing new, the price for proven vendor seals was only slightly more than I paid for Napa's replacements. Can't say that shell size problem will happen on yours but since so many of the grease seals carried over several years, something to be aware of.

When I did my Exec. I used 18984, 18985, (rears), 18290, 18291, (fronts). These will fit Fords as well as others. Dorman adds a "W" prefix, Wagner adds a "WC" prefix. New masters are available # 3081. Hope this helps.

Great info Bob but the '56 uses a Dana rear. Maybe I will just pull them & measure them up.

55 Clipper inner rear seal is C/R 13882, or National 472843.

I never change the outers as there is no tendency for the bearing grease to migrate.
