Twin Ultramatic oil strainer

Apologies if this the answer is posted somewhere, but I've looked and looked for with no luck.

I removed my '55 Patrician twin ultramatic transmission oil pan to clean it out, replace the fluid, and replace the gasket (don't really know enough to do more than that except adjust the bands as per the manual). The service manual says to remove and clean the 'oil strainer.' But I don't see one. Can someone point me to a picture of what it looks like? Is it a big mesh strainer that I may be missing or a little thing hidden up in the transmission?

thanks,
Bob

The screen is toward the valve body and the exposed side looks like a flat piece of metal. Held on by a single nut in the middle. Here is a photo of the bare filter from Max's site and another side view from the SM showing where it fits. No good straight on shots of the filter in the manual.

If yours is missing, the large outlet port is cast into the valve body but I don't remember if the other port is a cast part of a valve body or maybe a short press in tube going into a valve body. If it is a tube and the screen is missing the tube may be too.

I have that but didn't know what that was. Just took it off and now I see.

Sorry for the naive question, but thanks for a quick response. It's all clean now....

thanks again,
