I would think one of the regular instrument repair shops could repair it and might be worth an inquiry.

Wolfhttp://antiqueinstrument.com has done several of the later Packard instruments and seems to have a satisfied clientele.

Voltage meter? I'm pretty sure these cars didn't have a voltage meter, might you mean an ampere meter (amp meter, ammeter)?

Yeah, it's the gauge on the dash that shows when power is pulled from the battery. I'm a mechanical moron and don't know much about this stuff.

Will pass the link above to my mechanic.

The ammeter is a very simple gauge. It is merely a coil with a magnetized needle sticking thru the center. When the electricity is flowing in one direction (charge) through the coil it generates a magnetic field which pushes the needle to the right. When electricity flows in the opposite direction (discharge) it pushes the needle to the left.

I once owned a 1928 526 and rebuilt the ammeter myself in about an hour. Not really a difficult task.
