Let me be the first to say WOW! Gorgeous. And also preface my comment by stating I am NOT one to pick, judge or criticize another's efforts, but if you intend on competing at the level this car seems to be restored at, I have a brain cell buzzing to ask whether the bumperettes should have the inner "pigskin" area painted black?

Once again, gorgeous and enjoy the day at Amelia.

Wow that's gorgeous! The paint scheme makes it even look sleeker!

Agree. Beautiful. Yes, the bumperettes should be painted black in the middle.

Like Dave, I only offer this criticism since you will be showing at the top level. The rear license plate frame wasn't introduced until around 1942, and the front plate should be in the middle of the bumper.

I look forward to seeing it in Amelia, and would love to take some detail photos of your engine compartment so that we can improve our own in regard to proper details.

They were painted black when I got the Speedster and I stripped the paint off to recoat them and I liked the way the chrome reflected so I left them that way. I have seen several other Packard's done the same way. It just what I liked, not sure how it came from the factory.

Here's a period photo, which also shows the correct front license plate brackets.

I agree that it looks better in chrome only. I doubt the judges at Amelia will agree though. nature of the show it will be in I guess.

Wondering if paint scheme is something Packard would offer??

you must be standing next to this car 24/7 wiping the dust off to get it that shiny. heck.....my car barely looks at my garage and it gets covered in dust.

beautiful car and I hope you win!!!

The great thing about owning and restoring a Speedster is; taken from the Speedster brochure.
(As with all Speedster, they are strictly custom built and may be developed in any upholstery or color harmonies that please the owner's expression of good taste.)
So when I did this color scheme I took that I could order this color combination from Packard in 1930. You could order any option you wanted such as sidemounts, trunk, visionall wipers, etc. and the price was still $6000. This Speedster Sedan has these option that the other one does not.

Absolutely love the color scheme. Can't quite make out what it is on the molding--is that ivory? Immediately saved a copy of the photos to the "cool cars" folder on my computer.
