47 Packard Rear Vent Glass Removal

The rear vent window glass is mounted in a metal channel frame that 100% encloses the glass. By logic the channel has to separate to remove the glass. There is no visible spit in the frame. Is there a split in the channel frame under the top and bottom pivot clips. I have the Packard body and parts manual which are of no help.

Attached are photo of the window, upper pivot point and lower pivot point

Help greatly appreciated

On the regular sedans, one edge is open so the glass can slide out of the frame. That appears to be a long wheelbase car which was built by Henney. I find very little mention of Henney parts or procedures in the regular literature so perhaps that frame is something they built.

I find it hard to believe it wouldn't come apart but with a semi hand built car you never know. There was a TV show where Russian craftsmen built a chrome frame for some windows which ultimately was one piece. After the pieces were made, glass inserted and frame joined all the finishing was done after the glass was in.

I expect the same assy was used on LWB cars thru 50 but unless someone else has been there already you may be on your own to remove the window and see what it looks like. Is there any view near the rubber where you could look inside towards the pivot brackets and see if there is anything that looks like a split or seam?

Howard (HH56), your words are music to my ears but when it comes to the ZIS, then the frame is parted.
Art (busaf4), to check the window frames of 1948 Victoria convertibles could be helpful.
