Does anyone out there know how the top bows
were assembled on 1937 120 ?

I want to have them rechromed, they need to be disassembled, I see no way without cutting at various points. Are the joint points possibly a spline press fit or just a few thousandths tight fit using those parts that appear to be a mushroom rivet or ? I WANT TO KEEP THESE BOWS AS FACTORY.

Any help information, drawings, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help. Packard 385

You will have to chisel off the rivet heads off to get them apart. That's the easy part. There are a few options you can use (so called Chicago screws)(A sort of screw together rivet)or make each rivet on a lathe, then fight to peen them without damaging the arms. The best way, but expensive way is to find a platter who can do the hole operation.(plating and riveting)

Thanks for the response Convert.
You don't happen to know of a plating facility that could handle a job of that sort ? Thanks, Packard 385

Just disassemble one side and have it chromed. You may need the other, intact side to help you reassemble the new chromed pieces, unless you have access to another '37 120 convertible.
