Hi all,

Well in the continuing saga, I got all my valves and seats ground, set the valve lash and got my carb back from Daytona Parts (they did a wonderful job).

The next thing I have to do is to get my gas tank cleaned and sealed as they found quite a bit of dirt in the carb and as I recall I only had the exterior of the tank powder coated. I never had it cleaned out and sealed.

Can anyone can recommend a place that provides that service? Oh and if they're in Florida all the better. Thanks

If a local radiator shop can't help then there is the Renu process which cuts the tank open for cleaning and repair then gives you back a tank that looks almost new -- but generally has a price that would buy a repro tank if they were available. If they see your post a couple of people on this forum have had it done and might have some additional comments.

I used Gastankrenu for a '49 gas tank. Right now, no one is making repops for them. Renu did a great job, check out their website. They are a bit pricey. You can also UPS your tank to them but make sure it's clean and no gasoline smell. Apparently, UPS uses sniffers to make sure to hydrocarbons are being sent.
