I may have a good one but I'll have to check if it's available when I'm next at my shop in a few weeks. Do you have dimensions and photos of yours to match?

I was digging through photos and came across these of the tank that I had in mind. I won't know it's actual dimensions until I get there where I can check it out and I'm not absolutely certain what it came from but it is quite different than those in any of my current Packards. I did once part out a 1948 so I'm thinking it is from that so maybe the photos will help until I get there! Incidentally, that's only surface rust on the bottom as this tank has been out of any car for at least forty years but it's untested.

There were apparently three different tanks for 1948, depending on model but I'm not sure of the differences. Maybe capacity? If so, some might be thicker than others and I suspect that this is one of those.

I'm at my shop now and looked over the tank. I can see in the photos that is has a shorter fill-pipe so likely it's from a Henney-Packard. Not tested but it's in good solid visual condition and can possibly be used in a passenger car with the filler from your old tank..

No problem but if someone could help identify mine, please let me know. Same dimensions as posted above and about 7-1/2" deep. It's also the same dimensions as the one on my 1951 Henney-Packard but they filler is completely different.
