Hi All,

As we all know It is rare to see pre 40's Packard training films. For this reason I am planning to recreate these films from film supplements, and online AI voice overs. Is this something you would like to see done? This is a 53 second snippet showing what the films will be like. Please give me your opinions or suggestions

Please check out the link below

Cheers,
Mat

I would welcome them. The training films you have already posted on YouTube are nicely done and a reminder of how things used to be. I watched the 51 introduction again last night.

Wow! Keep up the good work, there's so much history lost as the generations age.
And thank you for keeping our Packard history viewable.
Regards,
Steve

The only critique I'd offer is with the voice-over. Radio shows, instructional films, news reels, everything, the voice over was far more exaggerated and campy sounding. They invariably threw in cheesy lines of comparison. The video and the concept is fantastic, I'd just try to mimic the campy "enthusiasm" that the voice over guys had back then - other than that, it's fantastic and this is a great concept, I'd love to see more films done. Thanks for tackling this.

There is not as much prewar material available yet but if you are interested you might check out some of the postwar factory service and sales training material Mathew has already converted from the old record and film strip formats and posted on YouTube.https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=packard+training+videos

There are some postwar commercials and comparison films posted by others that are also interesting.

Latest update on the 1939 training film...

I have found a better sounding voice, hopefully it comes across better than my previous attempt.

I have now uploaded the full 20 minute video. For those interested in viewing the film it can be found below.

I hope you all enjoy it.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
