1937 Packard Straight (Early) Door handles

I'm looking for a right (passenger) side door handle for my '35 115-C. I need the straight-style handle (early), which has the lock in it. I have one, but it needs to be re-chromed, so trying to find one that doesn't. Not looking for show quality, just presentable.

Also, would like to find a left-side straight handle with a lock as well. Which I understand were only on the Commonwealth Export cars (Righ-Hand drive models).

This would give me a door lock on the left side.

I don’t know about 1937 but for 1940, the right handle fit and worked perfectly on the left too as they have no actual “sidedness”.

Thanks Mal, I've already corresponded with Fred. He has none of the straight handles.

Don, the handles are not symmetrical and the square shaft is offset towards the bottom. So it would look quite odd on the incorrect side.

Good to know. Not that way by 1938 and up, though. Fronts would even fit the rear.

I have a couple of 36 doors that had some handles like you describe IIRC…no locks though. They were back doors to a sedan. But… rereading your post… sounds like maybe not what you want.

This is what the 37 (early, straight) handles look like. This one is the non-locking driver-side handle on my 37. This one looks great, but looking for the locking version that was used on right-hand drive cars. The passenger-side locking handle, which is on the car, is in rougher condition. That must have been the side that was weather-facing when this car spent prolonged time outside somewhere.

They went to a curved handle mid-37. But I prefer this straight design. I think it's a bit more art deco.
