This came to me in an email, sayiing:
"The car has the Russian version of Packard's V-8. It appears the the '56 Patrician soldiered on in Russia after the plant closed in the US. No captions came w/ these photos so I don't know if the engine is an Inline-8 or a copy of Packard's (then new) V-8." No comment, I hope Guscha chimes in.
