well i'm here. i've been lookin over this site for a few weeks now and decided it's time to step up. i recently aquired a '51 4dr with the ultramatic. she's been sitting in a field for the last 20 years so she's not exactly a prize mare. from what i currently know of her past is between '59 and '67 she was a shine runner. the rear seat removed and a wooden bench/ box in stalled in place. however after that she changed hands a few times ending up with some kid in the 80's who decided to practice his body work skills on her. good luck he lost interest because the lake of bondo on the rear deck ain't workin. i'm pullin her out into the sun tomorrow and i'll grab some pics and register her then also. just curious about where to find this anti theft umber thing. anywho, my names mike, this is my first packard, and i'm in this one deep. thanks.

G'day Mike,
to PackardInfo, I'm sure the wait's well worthwhile. With that colourful history better keep an eye on the rearview mirror for mikec's Packard Police Car! -https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/registry/View.php?ID=228
in advance for entering her in the Owner Registry.

The Thief Proof number(anti theft number) should look something like the one in the pic below and it's found stamped into the firewall.

Welcome Mike! You will find a lot of help here for your new project. I also have a '51 4 door. Mine is a 200 model. The thief proof number is right above the heater box on the firewall (passenger side). It should be between two triangles. Below is a pic of mine.

actaully a 52 200 deluxe with a 327 9 main backed by an ultramatic. the body needs major rust repair but i found the fender skirts and chrome from four or five different models in the trunk. she runs and drives but has no brakes whatsoever. plans for triple carbs and a blower or turbo are in the works.

Eric if I had illegals living in my garage, then the car would be much further along!

fatmike, you can check your engine's number to determine which one it is. There were three basic straight-8 engines offered in 1952, and each one had a high compression head option.

K200000 series - 288 cu. in. 5-main bearing, mechanical lifters

K400000 series - 327 cu. in. 5 main bearing, hydraulic lifters

K600000 series - 237 cu. in. 9 main bearing, hydraulic lifters
