Preventive Measure

As we get closer to the Election I know opinions will become divided and tempers will start to flair on a lot of issues. Lets remember that nothing spoils a party of mixed folks faster than talk of Religion or Politics. As such lets keep that keep those kinds of opinions, comments and fleeting remarks out of the forums here. We are all here to chat about our Packards and Packard and not what is going on with the ups and downs for the political circus.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Kev let me chime in on this one. I think in the political climate today discussion, in any forum, is vital to our survival as a country, as a free people, and as far as that goes the survival of our Packards as well.

I'm all for freedom as well, but this is a privately-owned forum and Kev can make any rule he wishes.

I also know very well that no one EVER changes anyone's mind on the public forums about religion or politics, and there is no need to open it up to such arguments.

I would respectfully request an exception if the politics involves laws dealing with our ownership and use of Packards. Such as laws requiring our 60 year old cars to meet current emission or safety standards. When the legislature is in session, keep your eyes on your property, including your Packard.

I don't have a problem with discussing laws and legislation that affect our Packards, as long as that is not a springboard for someones greater political views and agenda...... Also the discussion needs to be on topic and done in a respectful manner.

There are plenty of other Political forums that exists on the internet for the purpose of greater political discussion and the day this forum becomes one of those, I pull the plug as that means the website has lost it's way.

Not that I don't have my own political views, but there is a time and place for everything.

Kevin, I agree with you. This is a Packard forum and is not the place to discuss religion and politics other than those issues concerning the old car hobby.
