i've got a chance to buy a nice enclosed trailer that is 83 inches width at wheelwells and 20 ft. long inside. Will that fit most Packards except for the big Sr. cars?

PackardO,

I don't know about the trailer being able to carry the larger senior Packards, but if it were me I would make sure the trailer has a door on the LH side toward the front so you can get out of and in to the car and trailer with the car in place. A covered trailer is the way to go if you have a big enough truck to pull it.

I've got a Dodge 2500 4x4 with the Cummins so I've got more than enough truck. You are so right about the side door on the trailer but I think it's on the right side which most seem to be---I don't know why.

PackardO,

Ahhhh yes, the door is on the RH side so as to enter and leave the trailer on the curb side.

I'm going to hold out for a 24 ft. 5000 lb. axles trailer as the other one would only hold 3700 lb. payload--not enough. I think the 24 ft. will hold around 3 tons.

Dan,

That is a hoss for sure but I was hoping to stay around $5000 or less. There are new trailers built in Eastman Ga. for under $5000 that have 5200 lb. axles and are 24 ft. long but not as wide as that one you listed or will hold 7500 lbs.
