I need a gas tank to fit my 1948 Packard 2262 4 dr. sedan. Does anyone know sources for this tank? Thanks, Fred

Fred, you'd be just incredibly lucky to find a NOS tank and to my knowledge no one reproduces a tank now or has in the past. So you're pretty much left with finding a used one in good condition, making one or having one made from scratch, or adapting some other tank. Perhaps someone else has gone thru the work of finding a tank that can be adapted and can help further.

Don't know if this is any help but......the tank on my 50 Plymouth is very similar to our post war tanks, or at least similar to my 51 Patrician. This may be an alternative to our searches. It is a left hand side fill like my 51 but goes through a hole and grommet in the left fender. It's worth checking out. I have seen many repop tanks for the 50 Plymouth on ebay.
