I have a 39 120 and a 51 200. The generators look the same on both cars. I'll send you a photo of some of my spares and see if some of the more experienced guys can tell if it is the correct one.

here are some photos of my spare generator and the one on my 39 120, which is the same as yours as far as the engine goes. I'm wondering if you are missing the spacer that came on the bolt - it is about 1/2" thick. You can use a slightly oversized nut if you don't have the spacer, or cut a section of gas pipe will also work (and look better). The fan belt may be oversized as well. The prewar models also used a thick fan belt rather than the thin one that is on my 39 in the photo (just changed out from an alternator and have not changed it to the correct one yet).

The correct Auto-Lite generator is GDZ-4801F. This generator is also correct for 1941-47 Clippers both 6 and small 8. You could use a GGW-6001E (1948-50) which supercedes the GDZ-4801F, but might require a voltage regulator change.
This info was taken from the Packard parts books. Good luck in your search.

I'd start with MG Auto Electric on Arthur in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
You'll have to google them..... Larry is the owner and is a jewel among men..... They do great work, but if you want absolutely authentic wires coming out of the generator, you need to provide such wire.... IMHO they are both honest and reasonable...and not bullshitters...
