Repainting the window washer lid

I want to repaint the lid on the window washer. I can't find paint the looks like the original. The paint on the lid doesn't look like gray and silver is really wrong. Read on one of the forums that Eastwood Cadium spray paint was used on some parts. Would this be a good choice of paint?

I don't think it was painted, I think they were galvanized steel. At least that's what the one on my '56 looks like.

They were painted. They now sell rebuild kits for the pumps and they come with a new fresh painted top.

Do you know if any of the Packard vendors sell the kits or still have to get from McVeys.

I think Tucson Packard has them. I also think Vette Products in Michigan can get them.

Try the paint section in Lowes or Home Depot they sell a type of paint called Hammer Color in spray cans, It is a type that gives a look of a ripple coat and I have used it to coat antique trunks that I have redone, and it comes in different colors such silver and light gray that you might try.
