1953 Clipper rear axle width??

Does anybody know the backing plate to backing plate width of a '53 Clipper rear end? I don't have a means to measure it off hand, or I'd just go out and do it I'm just wanting to know as I'm looking to swap my rear end for something with higher gears. I'm running the 4.10s now, would like something more suited to highway cruising (70mph). I'm looking at maybe a Buick rear end (My '66 was 58" if I remember) or maybe a later C10 Chev (about the same)for the convenience of having the same bolt pattern all around...

Thanks in advance for any info!
