Gerd,

I love the pic of Thunderbird1, it's a magnificent looking craft. But when I think of Thunderbirds, I don't think of Ford products, Indiginous American Folklore or big wooden boats, I think of The TV puppet show by Gerry Anderson. Like in the pic's below.

Gerd,

Thunderbirds the TV show was quite a hit in it's time and attracted quite a cult following . In the last few years there was a film made and released and by this time you wouldn't have to use your daughter as an alibi to be able to see it.

As they say Thunderbirds are Go!

Guscha: The last picture you posted is of Miss America X.

This boat was powered by four Packard V12 engines. The great Gar Wood owned and built this boat. In 1932 on the Saint Clair River Miss America X became the first to go two a minute. The record speed posted by Gar Wood was 124.915 miles per hour.

Mal our cineaste would offer this to Marty McFly as an alternative to the DeLorean of Doc Brown.......

Gerd,

They are not Merlin engine's in Gar Woods Miss America X but Packard engines. The Rolls Royce/Packard Merlin was not around in 1932 but came later.

And with Packard ownership, it's always - "Back to the Future"
