You may have already referred to it but plate 63 in parts manual has a somewhat decent drawing of how things go together. To me looking at that illustration and where you have the red circle, if you're referring to 1.305 spring on he brake pedal, is looks to go the opposite direction.

Indeed! It looks like I did put that on backwards. Right now the spring (part 1.305) pulls the pedal towards "brakes applied" I will try and turn it around.
My parts manual is at home, and not in the garage...Guess I will store it from now on at the garage for quick reference!

And, Part 3.1013 the holder/adjuster for the clutch over center spring is on my shopping list.
This forum is great!

Anybody near munich have a good brake drum puller? I broke this one (one leg out of five broke) yesterday. It really only pulls, and it not good to hammer on, so I guess it is not going to work.
Almost got the front Suspension back together, so will soon have one Axel back together... Brought back brake lines and Clips from my trip to the US, so the lines can go back in soon. Also got my shipment from Steel, but they only sent me 10 Body Mount bushings instead of the 16 I ordered! rats, have to call them and see if they will send me the ones I paid for :-/ hope so...

The world's simplest drum puller:

Take a plate of thick steel, at least 1/2 inch (12mm) thick or more. Drill holes in the 5 on 5 inch wheel bolt pattern that Packard used. In the center of that circle drill a shallow hole a few mm deep that will fit over the end of the axle shaft.

Now go to your favorite store and buy five 9/16-20 bolts that will reach from that plate sitting on the end of the axle shaft down into the lug bolt holes. Assemble it on the end of the axle shaft and draw the bolts up even and snug. Then take an impact wrench and give each bolt a little zap at a time going round and round the circle. Just keep going round and round keeping the pressure even and it will pull right off with a bang. Just be certain you have good thread engagement before you start tightening.

Thanks for the plan Ross. Bolts that are about 3 inch long I can get at the one place in Munich that sells SAE bolts.
A plate I can "drum up" someplace (haha), and drilling the holes should not be to big a deal. We have a drill press in the shop.
Good excuse for me to get myself the impact gun for my birthday

No real Progress today, but my girlfriend katrin helped me out and we cleaned my bay in the Shop as part of my Birthday present! I feel like a lucky Guy!
Made some more room and cleaned things up so i hope I can find things better as the car starts going back together.
Also Gusha gave me some advice on where to find a meaty drum puller here in Germany. So that is in the mail, should be here next week! Danke Gusha!
