Mouton as a rear compartment floor covering was offered in the Twelves (and maybe Super 8s) in 1939. I had the opportunity to visit a very nice and unrestored 1939 Twelve Formal Sedan with this floor covering. Personally, I prefer a nice Wilton wool carpet, but this is what they did.
